English Labrador Retriever

Dogs make the most loving and faithful companions and have been regarded as companions ever since man started living in colonies. There are more than 200 breeds of dogs.

They have started staying with humans for food and warmth. Some dogs are trained for work also. In the 19th century the dogs were characterized according to their breed. Working dogs were different than family dogs. There are two types of Labradors, American Labradors and English Labradors. The English Labradors are from the English Bred stock. Their appearance is different than that of the American Labrador. The English Lab is heavier and stouter than the American lab. They are observed in a in off white, black as these two are commonly found. Silver and brown colors are rare in Labradors. Labradors are the most popular choice for family pets since they are very friendly and gentle. 

 

The English lab needs to be exercised daily as they gain weight easily. An English lab retriever is solid and muscular and it is slightly tall than a normal retriever. These labs can accompany you for a beach side holiday as they are excellent swimmers.  

Train your puppy English Labrador Retriever

As they are huge they require adequate food also. The maintenance of English Labradors Retrievers is also minimal. The neck of an English lab is very strong. They are quick learners too as it is very easy to train them. Some qualities of an English Labrador include watchdog, hunt dog, tracking and rescuing. They should be taken from a good breeder as he should have knowledge on Labradors. The maturity level in English labs is high than an American lab. They can stay in an apartment where the living conditions are normal and can live anywhere with friendly atmosphere.
